デューク・カハナモク(Duke Kahanamoku)は、ハワイの英雄にして伝説のウォーターマンです。オリンピック競泳のゴールドメダリストであり、サーフィンというスポーツを確立しました。世界中にその名を知らしめたデュークは競技人生を終えた後、ハワイの認知度向上のために活動を始めました。特に力を注いでいたのがアロハシャツの普及で、その名を冠したブランドを1930年代からスタートして、自らが広告塔となってハワイの文化を世界へと広めました。

この製品は米国Duke Kahanamokuよりライセンスを受け、日本のカジュアルウェア服飾アパレルブランド・東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)が企画生産をしています。

その東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)ブランドのDUKE KAHANAMOKU(デューク・カハナモク)レーベルの「デュークス・パイナップル」アロハシャツ(メンズ 半袖シャツ ハワイアンシャツ オープンシャツ)です。

この製品は、1950年代に実在したビンテージアロハシャツ「Duke's Pineapple」(デュークス・パイナップル柄)の復刻モデルです。

シルエットは身幅にゆとりを持たせて着丈が短めにに仕上げられたアロハシャツらしいアメカジスタイルのボックスシルエット(ボクシーフィットスタイル)です。リラックスした着心地で、通気性も良く、暑い夏にも快適にご着用いただけます。

形はオープンカラー(開襟タイプ)のフルオープンシャツで、スソは水平にカットされたスクウェアボトム(スクエアカット)です。

素材はレーヨン100%のライトウェイトレーヨンフジエット生地です。レーヨン独特のマットな光沢感と、タラタラとしたドレープ感が特徴のサラッとした薄地生地です。見た目の美しさだけではなく、放熱性が高いため、暑い夏にも快適にご着用いただける夏向けの薄手素材です。

フロントはトップのループボタンを含めて6つボタンによるフルオープン開閉式です。ボタンにはシンプルで上品な4つ穴白蝶貝ボタンが使用されています。その名の通り、貝から削りだしたボタンです。美しい光沢感が目を惹き、上品な雰囲気を醸し出します。ボタンホールは水平方向に穴が開けられています。

負荷のかかるショルダー部分にはもう1枚生地をあてた背当てヨーク仕様です。背中ヨーク下肩口にはアクションプリーツが入れられ運動性も考慮されています。

左胸にはボディに柄合わせされたパッチポケットが設けられています。

オールオーバーパターンの柄は抜染プリントで表現されています。抜染プリントとは、生地を地染めして、柄の部分の色を抜染剤で抜くと同時に、他の色で染め付ける手法です。濃い地色と対照的な明るい色の組み合わせが可能なため、コントラストが強調され発色が際立ちます。

映画「地上より永遠に(1953年)」の格闘シーンで着用された有名なパイナップル柄が、この「デュークス・パイナップル」です。当時のロングセラー作品で、シンプルで洗練されたデザインとして人気の高いデザインです。

This "Duke's Pineapple" print was originally produced by Duke Kahanamoku in the 1950s in early 1950s in Hawaii. And this item is a exact reproduction of the body pattern, design and fabric of the "Duke's Pineapple" Aloha shirt made by "Duke Kahanamoku" in early 1950s in Hawaii. This shirt combines all those historical characteristics and details and has a exact copy of original label design. Fabric : Made of 100% rayon, lightweight, soft, smooth and breathable fabric that offers a combination of unique beautiful flowing drape, subtle silky luster and sophisticated wrinkles. This fabric is suitable for summer.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : 6 buttons on front opening including a loop top button. Full-button closure (Front placket, Front button closure).

Buttons : The buttons are white genuine mother of pearl buttons with horizontal button holes. This shirt has a top button that fastens with a loop at the collar.

Collar Type : Resort collar ( Hawaiian loop collar, Camp collar, Notched collar, Open collar ).

Bottom hem type : Straight hemline ( Square cut bottom Hem ).

Pocket : Matched open-top patch pocket on left side chest, allowing for a seamless image. Creating matched pockets requires the use of more fabric and more precise cutting and sewing.

Yoke type : Straight yoke. A shirt yoke is made from two layers of fabric for durability. Reinforced double-layers shoulder yoke for greater durability at at stress points.

Back of the Shirt : Side pleated back vents to allow for maximum movement and comfort. The rear side pleats on the back (just below the yoke, out towards the ends of the shoulders) to allow for maximum movement and comfort.
